Max

I believe Max has retired.

He was a very sensitive sort.  Stubborn, but I appreciate that he at least came around on the chemtrails thing.

And even then likely only because his son seemed to point him in the right direction.

I hope he comes back this year.

Handzus maybe also, but I have a feeling he'll resurface.

Re: Max

LOL! You've always been an asshole but that is your only redeeming quality so I guess you should stick with it! How are you Pan?

Re: Max

Hey phoggy. I haven't been watching any of the games cause I don't get cable anymore. But when they get closer I plan to get back into the Phils. But tell me.....you're a smart guy.....how long before they are contenders again? What do you think?

Re: Max

max,

I'm now think 2019-20.  The Phils will make a pitch for Bryce Harper as a free agent after this year.  That would be the cornerstone.  failing that they'll go after Mike Trout in a trade or wait until his free agency in 2020.

Why so pessimistic?  Here's why:

1. JP Crawford needs to play as a sure thing and stop reading about how he's a sure thing
2. Nick Williams seems to be very immature.  He's sensitive, he pouts, he whines.  He plays corner outfield.  If he were really good he'd be up already.
3. The pitchers seem to have stalled.  Hopefully this can be rectified.
4. Franco has stalled.  He's putting on weight.

Reasons for optimism:
1. Alfaro seems to be the real deal.  He's your catcher for the next decade.
2. Hoskins and Dylan haven't lost their power in AAA.
3. Kingery and Mondiak are hitting well in the lower minors.
4. Andrew Pullin may be able to push Nick Williams.  As long as he keeps his head straight.  He "retired" once already at the age of 22.
5. Pitching, pitching , pitching is strong at the A level.  Young and good.  Lots of them.
